3D laser scanning of Insee cement silo in Vietnam
Hop Nhat Bach Viet performed 3D laser scanning of Insee cement silo in Vietnam. Scanning area includes 2 silos at Cat Lai port in Ho Chi Minh and in Nhon Trach Dong Nai. The silo is quite high with a silo height of 20m and a distance from the ground to 40m.
Purpose of 3D laser scanning of cement silo
Silo Insee needs to be cleaned industrially during operation. Checking and re-evaluating inventory, cement positions on the wall to clean before opening silo’s door in order to increase lsafety for cleaning technicians inside the Silo.
The Silo cleaning contractor needs to do 3D scanning of the current situation inside the Silo to consider a safe implementation plan. That’s why it is necessary to do 3D scanning of cement silos.
Used equipments for 3D laser scanning of Silo Insee
Bach Viet contractor used total station and RTK to creat coordinate and evaluation control landmark system to register the results of Laser scanning stations.
The lidar scanning device is a Trimble X7 with the support of a lifting gantry.
Method of 3D laser scanning inside cement silo
Beacause Silo is quite high and deep, Bach Viet contractor scanned from the top through 6 holes in the roof. The Trimble X7 was placed upside down and carefully inserted into the Silo for scanning.
All equipments and people are guaranteed to be safe during the scanning process.
Handover product
Handover product is the result of analyzing 3D Scan data and calculating the volume of material mountains inside the Silo
Report includes intuitive 3D images.
